CMR – Logistics

Cargo liability of road haulier and/or logistics provider

In case of damage to or loss of the transported goods, Avero offers protection to road hauliers for potential claims from third parties under the CMR convention.(1)
According to the specific needs of the haulier, the standard cover can be extended to include;

• Cover for transport of perishable goods (temperature controlled transport)
• Cover for bulk – or tanktransport
• Sub-contracting
• Transport under airwaybill, with application of the increased limit of liability as per Warsaw Convention (2)
• Cabotage

In recent years many hauliers have expanded their activities to become providers of logistical services, offering storage facilities and sometimes full logistical chain management in addition to standard transport activities.

Naturally this creates new and more extended liabilities for which Avéro can offer suitable insurance solutions

1. CMR Convention : Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by road.
2. Warsaw Convention : Convention applicable to all International Carriage of Persons, Baggage or Cargo performed by aircraft.
